ZAYA is a family-founded, women-owned brand born in the artisanal heart of Arroio do Sal, Brazil, and shared with the world from San Diego, California.

Each piece is carefully handcrafted with traditional macramé techniques, using natural fibers and timeless design. Made in small, exclusive batches, every bag is one of a kind.

Born in Brazil and based in California, Thaynara is the creative heart behind Zaya’s design and storytelling. She leads the brand’s visual direction and brings Brazilian craftsmanship to a global audience. As a full-time college student and lifelong creative, she pours care and intention into every detail — from colors and textures to the way each piece is shared with the world.

Co-Founder & Artisan — Zaya Handmade (Brazil)

Based in southern Brazil, Elizama is the skilled artisan behind Zaya’s handmade creations. She leads the making process with patience and artistry, transforming every thread into something meaningful. Each piece she creates carries her signature touch — a reflection of her roots, her rhythm, and her love for timeless craftsmanship.
